Weddings

Congratulations, you have found your lobster! That imperfect person who is perfect for you. Now let’s celebrate!

Whether you want a wedding, civil ceremony or partnership, it should reflect the couple you are, your way. There is no cookie-cutter type wedding here, just as no two couples reflect the same weirdness. Whether you want a Bridgerton style wedding, a party in your back garden, a Game of Thrones cosplay extravaganza or a simple but beautiful wedding on a beach or forest, all are possible with an Independent Celebrant.

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

Who?

Love is Love and I would be honoured to marry couples, from any gender, sexuality, religion, or culture. I am excited about learning about your life, your beliefs, your traditions and your quirks but most of all the story of you as a couple.

Where and When?

With a celebrant you are not restricted to any time or licensed venues and you can get married whenever and wherever you like! The world is your oyster! Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box; that old 1920’s art deco cinema might be worth a second glance, or that west-facing cliff overlooking the sea at sunset might work a treat. Do you have any special locations you share as couple?

I am an Oxfordshire-based wedding celebrant and I am happy to conduct weddings within a 30 mile radius of here included within my price. Although, I would be delighted to travel anywhere in the UK or beyond if you will cover travel expenses and accommodation if needed.

Is this wedding legally binding?

No. However, you can easily get the ‘legal bit’ done at the registry office at any time and have the wedding ceremony afterwards. The statutory wedding service normally costs around £50 (this varies slightly from county to county).

What is the difference between a registrar and a celebrant?

  • Although a registrar can do the legal bit, they are restricted to a rigid cookie-cutter type script which does not reflect you as a couple, your beliefs or your community.
  • Registrars are not permitted to include any religious or spiritual content. With a celebrant you can include spiritual or religious content from any religion or combine multiple religions if you wish.
  • You may meet your registrar once beforehand if you are lucky, but they will not be able to spend much time getting to know you. A registrar’s ‘slot’ on the day will typically be around 20 minutes and they will have several weddings all on the same day. With a celebrant you can have a longer ceremony, at a time that pleases you. I book out the whole day just for you!
  • With a registrar you are provided with set vows, with a celebrant we can design them together to reflect you and your lives together.
